Why we quilt on a

Nancy has had a long time relationship with Baby Lock sewing machines. Baby Lock sewing machines and sergers are featured prominently on Sewing With Nancy. For years, Baby Lock has been the only sewing machine brand Nancy used while demonstrating sewing, quilting and serging techniques. Recently, she had the chance to release a collector’s edition sewing machine. A limited number of Ellisimo Gold’s were sold to celebrate 30 years of "Sewing With Nancy". This is one of Nancy Zieman's favorite machines, so she was happy to put her signature on exclusive models just for sewing enthusiasts.

Quilt in a Day

When it comes time to set the stage for quilting success, I use the Baby Lock Aria quilting machine. The baby lock aria is packed with features powered by Baby Lock IQ Technology. That means you’ll enjoy quick auto- adjustments and hassle-free sewing experience. I can make elegant turns using the advanced pivoting features, and the Digital Dual-Feed System helps me effortlessly stitch multiple layers of fabric. Plus, the extra-large workspace gives me more room to compose bigger projects. With so many user-friendly features, I might start making more than one quilt in a day!

If you love the creativity that comes with quilting, the Tempo is the machine for you. There are no limits to your fabrics or stitches, so you can always have fun. And when you're ready to try new techniques, the Tempo will keep up. With the Baby Lock Tempo's advanced needle thread and quick-set bobbin, I can get started on my project right away, giving me more time to share videos with you. The Baby Lock Tempo makes it so easy to get into my quilting rhythm.

When I first experience the ease and convenience of the Melody, I know this machine was just for me. The Melody had the features I’ve been looking for to quilt with confidence and to let my creativity grow, like a precise ¼” stitch, easy thread and a wide quilting table. As a writer, I can’t help but tell a story with everything I do, and I fell in love with the way quilts can tell a story, too. And with 189 stitches and 14 feet for every technique, the Melody lets me tell my story while hitting all the right notes.

I've been doing some kind of sewing for as long as I could hold a needle and thread. My first experience with a Sashiko- like stitch was on my Grandma's quilts. For anyone who has seen the hand-stitching technique known as Sashiko, you'll be amazed that there's a machine that can replicate this distinctive stitch. This sweet, simple, but elegant stitch can embellish almost anything. From garments to home décor to quilting - once I get started with this machine I can't stop!

I know that the Baby Lock Crown Jewel II is a finely tuned instrument, and now I can get up to 6” of extra quilting space when I play it on the Momentum frame. The pair makes a truly moving duet. That’s because the Momentum moves in sync with me as I quilt, maintaining the same amount of quiltable space. The extra space along with the Crown Jewel II’s user-friendly features and customizable options at my fingertips make every quilt easier to finish.
